Your child will get to know the creatures of the deep in this beautiful mind-expanding set! Scuba divers explore vivid underwater sea life at the bottom of the ocean, or an iceberg can be placed on top of the scene to learn about polar bears and penguins in Arctic regions. Includes a 23" x 31" background felt board scene that folds in half for storage, 67 felt figures you can cut out, or order precut, as well as related lessons and playtime activities for home and school. Tip: Since our felt is washable, you can even play with these figures in the bath for realistic "oceans" of fun! The felt figures adhere to the sides of the bathtub and fall off when they dry the next day!
Note: These felt boards are scored to fold in the center for storage. Make sure you open them all the way and lean them at an angle so friction and gravity can work together so the felt story figures stick!
FunFelt Idea: Play "What Doesn't Belong?" by placing pictures of various things (use tape, velcro or bits of sandpaper on back) on the Ocean background along with the fish and other figures. Have the children pick out what doesn't belong and discuss why not. For example, place a tornado, trash, or a person with clothes. Have fun teaching the children about ecology! - Karen Clark
